It's a lot of work but sooo worth it!

I think this is my very first blogger blog.  That's got a ring to it doesn't it? Blogger blog.  Just kinda rolls off the tongue!

Anyway, the reason I'm blogging tonight is because I have a tendency to "disappear" occasionally and I wanted to explain why!  I haven't really disappeared, I've just been very focused on making music.  I go into my cave and simply create.

Well, not just create, I also practice a lot.  I'm constantly honing my guitar playing, singing, and songwriting skills.  Very time consuming.

For example.  My main instrument is guitar.  I used to be pretty much a lead guitarist.  Mostly electric guitar.  But about 3 years ago, I decided to make the transition to acoustic guitar.  At the time I wasn't much of an acoustic guitarist.  I could strum most any chord but I couldn't accompany myself while I played melodies.

So I began to practice every single day for hours.  Now, almost 3 years later, I'm finally moving forward rapidly in my skill level.  I feel really good about the skill level I'm at and I'm developing my own style.  I can accompany myself (play melody and chords simultaneously) and also am developing reasonably good finger picking technique.

Plus, a bonus I wasn't expecting.  I found that I really enjoy playing acoustic.  I can better express emotion through acoustic than I could through electric guitar.

So that's it for tonight,
